H. N. Datta, a Hindu male, cet. 30, by occupation a clerk, of temperate habits, placed himself under my treatment in May last, complaining of partial blindness and something floating in front of his right eye. His sight had been all along good, till one morning he noticed that he could onty distinguish large objects in certain directions, and these No history of fall or ineven looked distorted. to this. head Never had the to previous jury syphilis or rheumatism. anything. In the

right eye he can distinguish big objects by moving the eye in certain directions, and perceives a shadow waving up and down on moving the head. Tension on the eye normal. Ophthalmoscopic examination. (By the direct method). No fundus reflex. A bluish grey film bulging forward into the vitreous and bounded by a sharp line in the lower part of the fundus. The discoloured piece is better seen with a convex glass ( + 20) in front of the eye. The film floats with a tremulous motion with the movement of the globo of the eye. The vessels 011 the film are thin, dark, and terminate abruptly. The vitreous full of blood-clots. Organs normal. Urine, sp.. qr. 1012. Reaction acid. No albumen or sugar. Treatment.?Rest in bed. Hypodermic inof of jections ? gr. pilocarpine on the temple ?

better. Fundus reflex could be got. Bloodclots in the vitreous smaller in size. After four weeks, sight perceptibly better. D. Y. = aV N. V.= not improved. Fundus reBlood-vessels could flex bright. Fundus hazy. be traced. Blood-clots in the vitreous fewer in number and smaller in size. After six weeks, sight distinctly better. D. V. = tV N. V. No. 13 J. Can distinguish objects plainly. Can read the clock. Fundus much clearer than before. Blood-vessels more distinct. Opacities in the vitreous fewer in number. The hypodermic injection of pilocarpine was The oleate of mercury inunctions now stopped. continued. Pot. Iodid. with sarsaparilla prescribed internally. After two months, D. Y. 1\. N. V. = No. 6 J, patches of effusion in the fundus. Fine opacities in the vitreous. Can see all right. Was advised to continue the treatment for some time. =
