Abstract OBJECTIVE—To examine the relationship between baseline renal function tests in patients with chronic hypertension and adverse outcomes.

METHODS—This was a retrospective cohorst study of women with a singleton pregnancy and chronic hypertension with assessment of renal function (urine protein-to-creatinine ratio and serum creatinine) prior to 20 weeks. The primary outcome was severe preeclampsia
