Case Reports James P. Stannard, MD1 1 Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Missouri Orthopaedic Institute,

University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri

The Journal of Knee Surgery has undergone a large number of changes in the past 3 years. We have a completely new editorial board, have added Special Focus Sections with guest editors to most of our volumes, and have increased from four issues per year to six issues per year. We now have one additional change that I would like to announce via this editorial. We recognize that case reports are important and did not want to leave potential authors with no option for their kneerelated case reports. The solution has been to launch a sister journal, called Journal of Knee Surgery Reports as an openaccess publication for quality case reports. We believe this will allow authors to have a high-quality option for publishing case reports related to knee pathology while still preserving space in the Journal of Knee Surgery for original submissions.

Space constraints due to the large number of high-quality original articles and special focus sections prevent the Journal of Knee Surgery from continuing to accept or publish case reports. Authors are encouraged to submit their case reports at the following site: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ jksreports. In December 2013, the Journal of Knee Surgery published a special supplement to include all the case reports that had already been accepted and published online prior to our launching the JKS Reports concept. We look forward to continuing to review and publish high-quality original manuscripts regarding knee pathology, and to our partnership with JKS Reports as a premium outlet for case reports.
