News & Reports

Companies agree insurance partnership Petplan has announced that it has been selected as the chosen pet insurance provider for Vets4Pets and Companion Care, following a formal tender process. The five-year partnership will cover 250 practices. Under the agreement, Vets4Pets and Companion Care practices will be able to activate four weeks’ free Petplan insurance for clients with puppies, kittens and rabbits. Practices will also be able to specifically recommend Petplan insurance rather than just pet insurance in general and to provide additional support to clients during the claims process. While all veterinary practices are able to promote the benefits of pet insurance generally, Petplan currently has a network of more than 2500 ‘appointed representative’ practices that are able to recommend its insurance specifically. It says it will be providing full training and support for Vets4Pets and Companion Care practice staff to allow them to support their clients. However, clients will be able to chose alternative pet insurance providers if they wish. ‘We have a rich history of working with veterinary practices across the UK and it is fantastic to see our unrivalled support recognised as part of a formal tender process,’ said Simon Masding, Petplan’s head of sales and partnerships. ‘This partnership demonstrates our passion for working with and supporting the veterinary profession.’
