Received 27 September 1978, accepted for publication 9 January 1979 Temperahcreativity and temperature-$rability relationships o f malate dehydrogenases from eight thermophilic fungi were determined. Temperature optima for maximum activity of the enzymes varied between 50' and 60' and the Arrhenius plots were linear between 5' and 50'. The energies o f activation ranged from 2.1 Kcallmol for fhe enzyme from Sporotrichum thermophile to 9 2 Kcallmol for that from Penicillium duponti.
