he 1977 Phase I examination (written and patient presentation-oral) for certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics was held at the American Dental Association Building, Chicago, Ill., Feb. 15 and 16, 1977. The Phase II examination (clinical and oral) was held at the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry, Minneapolis, Minn., June 13 through 17, 1977. Warpeha, Jr., Minneapolis, Minn.; Dr. Ira D. Zinner, New York, N. Y. At the 1976 Annual Meeting of the Federation of Prosthodontic Organizations (FPO) Dr. Thomas A. Curtis, of Berkeley, Calif., was elected to the Board as the replacement for Dr. William R. Laney, who completed his term on Aug. 31, 1977. Dr. Laney served as Secretary-Treasurer for 4 years and contributed immensely to the many changes made in the examination procedure during his tenure. He continually sought ways to make the examination process more effective. The following changes in Board policy were approved during 1976-1977: (1) revised the Information Brochure and sent a copy to all Prosthodontic Program Directors; (2) FPO approved and funded a project for the retrieval of statistical examination material; (3) announced the location of the Phase II (clinical) examination 2 years in advance; (4) established a rotating Examination Committee to project future written examinations; and (5) commenced requiring that candidates *Professor,

perform all clinical and laboratory procedures with the exception of the removable framework for the Phase I (part 2) patient-presentation examination. The 1978 Phase I examination will be held at the American Dental Association Building, 211 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago, Ill., Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 1978. The Phase II clinical examination will be held at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry, Baltimore, Md., June 11 through 16, 1978. he 1977 Phase I examination (written and patient presentation-oral) for certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics was held at the American Dental Association Building, Chicago, Ill., Feb. 15 and 16, 1977. The Phase II examination (clinical and oral) was held at the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry, Minneapolis, Minn., June 13 through 17, 1977. Curtis, of Berkeley, Calif., was elected to the Board as the replacement for Dr. William R. Laney, who completed his term on Aug. 31, 1977. Dr. Laney served as Secretary-Treasurer for 4 years and contributed immensely to the many changes made in the examination procedure during his tenure. He continually sought ways to make the examination process more effective. The following changes in Board policy were approved during 1976-1977: (1) revised the Information Brochure and sent a copy to all Prosthodontic Program Directors; (2) FPO approved and funded a project for the retrieval of statistical examination material; (3) announced the location of the Phase II (clinical) examination 2 years in advance; (4) established a rotating Examination Committee to project future written examinations; and (5) commenced requiring that candidates *Professor,
