SUMMARY A total of 239 Yorkshire Landrace sows was used to determine the effects of pregnant mare serum (PMS) and chlortetracycline on reproductive performance. Sows that had lactated for 3 weeks were assigned to one of four factorially arranged treatments at weaning. The treatments consisted of (I) control (2.27 kg feed per day); (II) control + 750 IU PMS injected at weaning; (lid control + 1 g chlortetracycline per day in the feed from weaning to 15 days postmating; and (IV) control + 750 IU PMS at weaning + 1 g chlortetracycline in the feed from weaning to 15 days postmating.
