Dr. Garrett Nash is an Associate Attending Colon and Rectal Surgeon at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. Garrett was born in Ireland and moved to the United States in 1990. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brown University, Providence, RI, and an MD degree from Columbia University in New York, NY. He started his General Surgery Residency training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA and then did 3 years of research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His residency was completed at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell in New York, NY. His colorectal surgery residency training was performed at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell/Columbia. Then, he completed a colorectal oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and in 2008 he joined the staff at this institution. In addition in 2010, Dr. Nash obtained a Masters of Public Health from Harvard University in Boston, MA. Dr. Nash is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, NY. He is board-certified

in General and Colon and Rectal Surgery. He teaches surgical residents and medical students on a daily basis, and is an active participant in multiple surgical societies. He is a member of the MSK Research Council and ASCRS Research Foundation and the Vice-Chair of the ASCRS Awards Committee. His clinical and research focuses include minimally invasive techniques for colorectal cancer and the management of peritoneal surface malignancies (including colorectal and appendiceal cancer and peritoneal mesothelioma). His contributions to the medical literature include 64 peer reviewed publications and multiple presentations at national and international meetings. Garrett and his family live in New York, NY. When not working, he enjoys long-distance running, travel, and spending time in the Poconos.
