Sir.?Your correspondent, " Scrutator," who writes in the Pioneer of the 21st ultimo regarding the past sanitary history of i he Backergunge Jail, will be glad to hear that during the past nine months a change for the better has taken place. During this period the average strength has been 429. The deaths have been three in number, equal to '68 per cent. There have been no deaths from cholera. One -WHO KNOWS.
