AONS executive committee attended the ICCN2016 and met Stella Bialous and Patsy Yates, president and president-elect of International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), to discuss about further strengthening collaborations between two organizations. (AONS) International Partner Joint Session at ICCN 2016. The theme of the plenary session is ‘Nursing leadership in multidisciplinary cancer care: Roles and challenges’. Three oncology nursing scholars from three different Asian countries were invited to be plenary speakers. Dr. Kyunghee Lim (South Korea) presented how nursing leadership to effect policy change for cancer care; Dr. Meera Achreker (India) discussed the importance of nursing leadership in integrating clinical nurse specialist in cancer care in India; Prof Carman Chan (Hong Kong China) put more emphasis on roles of oncology nurses on leading multidisciplinary cancer and palliative care research. Ms. Tomoko Izawa from Japan was also invited to be a speaker of preconference workshop ‘Global issues of survivorship’. She shared her views of cultural issues of survivorship care in Asia. APJON editorial board members also gathered together to discuss future direction of the journal (Photos 1-4).

Winnie So, the president, attended the Congress and participated in the ISNCC session on ‘Strengthening the oncology nursing workforce in LIMCs to address the growing cancer burden. Other speakers included Erik van Muilekom (Past president of European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) and Julia Downing (Representative of ISNCC). The session was well-received by the audiences (Photo 5).
