Summary During a 60-min incubation period, the in vitro release of serotonin (5-HT) from the hypothalami of control male rats decreased by 12.3 ± 3.1%. In contrast, the presence of 25 ng of interleukin-l~ (IL-I~) in the incubation medium more than doubled this decrease to 29.3 ± 3.3% (P
