Introduction Glycemic control is the core of diabetes care and is associated with reduced risk for complications in type 1 and type 2 diabetes (1e5). Randomized controlled clinical trials have shown that glycemic control reduces the chance for macrovascular and microvascular complications (3e5), so current treatment guidelines emphasize timely interventions for patients so they can reach appropriate glycemic targets within months of their diagnoses (6).
