Introduction Dear Protein Science Readers, We’re happy to report that the 29th Annual Symposium of the Protein Society in Barcelona was a great success. This was the first time the Society has held its main Symposium outside of the U.S. so we were happy to hear all the positive feedback from the attendees. And we agree. The outstanding program put together by the Planning Committee (Jim Wells (Chair), Gary Pielak, Oscar Millet, Sarah Teichmann, Miquel Pons, and Mark Lemmon), plus the charm of Barcelona attracted nearly 800 registrants and nearly 540 poster abstracts. As usual at a Protein Society Symposium, the science was both broad and exciting, including sessions covering single molecule and single cell observations, systems biology, protein and cell engineering, chemical biology and drug development, protein folding and misfolding in disease, all interspersed with cutting edge techniques. It was hard to not go away inspired. Make sure you include the 30th Annual Symposium in your plans: Baltimore July 16-19, 2016. Already plans are underway for some special events for this 30th anniversary symposium. The Baltimore program for the first time will include contributed talks to be selected for each of the sessions. We look forward to seeing you all in Baltimore! Best Wishes,
