3UUi of July morning a washernamed Kamini, aged about 25, came to She gave the Narail Charitable Dispensary. to epileptic fits at a history of being subject On the morning of the 15th short intervals. July she got an epileptic fit in a standing position, and accidentally fell over a bamboo in a sitting posture, when by the force of the fall a piece of a bamboo branch broke, and penetrated very deep, just about half an inch to the right side of her auus. I explored the wound, which was very small, and only admitted a probe, which entered to the depth of 5 ins., but I could not feel the presence of any foreign body in it. It struck me that the foreign body might have found its way into the rectum by the force of the fall, so I explored it with my finger, but could not find anything there except that I felt the presence of some hard substance in a vertical position by the side of the rectum about two inches beneatli the surface of the skin. I cut freely to the depth of two inches over the suspected part, when with the probe I could feel the end of the foreign body. I then enlarged the wound to the required extent to facilitate the extraction of it, and with a strong forceps I extracted the foreign body, which was an entire -piece of a bamboo branch four inches long, and as thick as a full-grown Jinger. It is worthy of notice, that the patient came walking from her home, which is about two miles distant, The woman is a fortnight after the accident. UN
