I have been a member for some time and I try to attend whatever meetings or conferences I can?but living some distance from town does mean that Mental Health is my main source for keeping in touch. I like the increased emphasis on the part that members' views can take in the Association: and although I am only an amateur, I have one suggestion about a subject for a future issue. My experiences with the mentally sick have made me realise that one of the most common causes?proximate, if not remote?is loneliness. Perhaps the full implications of this suffering as it affects heaith mental (and, consequently, physical health too) could be examined It may be a subject which more closely. the Association could "adopt". I would also like to send congratulations on reading of the wonderful opportunity which the Rees-Thomas donation affords. Brigid Boardman Warminster, Wiltshire.
