ur association has been active in the implementation of the year-1 object ives of our recently approved 5-year strategic plan. The plan is available for review on our website (www.cua.org) and I encourage all members to familiarize themselves with it. The CUA Board welcomes member involvement with the implementation of the plan. The follow ing is an update on our progress of the 4 priorities outlined in the strategic plan: 1. Increase Member Engagement: The CUA Corporate Office w ill be launching an e-newsletter this month, and then quarterly, that w ill remind members of CUA of its offerings, including patient brochures and upcoming meetings. Further, our Corporate O ffice w ill be developing a registry of members who are interested in being involved with the CUA. This list w ill be accessed by the nominating committee on an annual basis. Members can contact the Corporate Office to have their name included in this registry. 2. Be the Voice of Urology in Public and Health Policy: The CUA Board has recently approved changing the name of the "Socio-Economic Committee" to "The Health Policy Committee" accompanied by new terms of reference that w ill change its mandate. As well, the CUA is currently working closely with other medical groups that share the CUA's vision to optimize urologie care for our patients. 3. Become the Pre-eminent Urological Resource for Patients and Health Professionals: The CUA is collaborating with family physicians and others to facili tate education of their constituent members. 4. Ensure the Financial Stability of the CUA: Our efforts continue to ensure that we adapt to the ever-changing external environmental forces, w hile maintaining our focus on revenue diversification.

L a urence K lo tz for his recent appoint m e n t to th e O rd e r o f Canada. Dr. Klotz developed the active m on ito rin g approach to prostate cancer that is emulated around the w orld. He continues to contribute to the scientific content of CUAJ. Congratulations Laurie!

Accroître la participation des membres : Le Bureau central de l'A U C lancera un bulletin électronique ce m ois-ci, qui paraîtra ensuite tous les trimestres, afin de rappeler à ses membres les avantages q u 'e lle offre, notam m ent les brochures info-patients, et d 'a nn on cer les réunions prochaines ainsi que d'autres actualités concernant l'asso ciatio n. De plus, le Bureau central préparera un répertoire des membres souhaitant donner de leur temps à l'A U C . Cette liste sera passée en revue une fois par année par le C om ité des candidatures. Pour faire ajouter son nom à ce répertoire, il vous suffit de com m uniquer avec le Bureau central. 2. Être la voix de l'urologie quant aux politiques publiques et de santé : Le Conseil d'adm inistration de l'A U C a récemm ent approuvé le changement de nom du C om ité socio-économ ique, qui s'appellera désormais le C om ité des politiqu es de santé; de nouvelles stipulations soulignant le nouveau mandat du comité, conform ém ent au plan stratégique, seront aussi élaborées. De même, l'A U C travaille actuellem ent en étroite collaboration avec d'autres groupes de la com m unauté m édicale qui partagent la vision de l'A U C , soit d 'optim iser les soins urologiques pour les patients.
