Persistent pleural effusion and post-traumatic subarachnoidal-pleural fistula I note with interest the article by M.G. Jimenez et al. “Persistent pleural effusion and post-traumatic subarachnoidal-pleural tistula”
We reported a case of traumatic subarachnoid-pleural fistula [2], where operative closure was not required. This patient, because of his major neurological injury, has been seen fairly frequently and to date has had no further problems. This does indicate that conservative management can be successful.
