VOLUME 69, NUMBER 4, AUGUST 2OO8

Publisher's A n n o u n c e m e n t It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement as Executive Publisher of Current Therapeutic Research with the publication of this issue. This has been a year of many happy changes in my personal life, and after 13 years of working on the journal in various capacities, the time and circumstances seem right for me to make the change. In my 3½ years as Publisher, I am proud to have carried on the advancement of the journal. First was the redesign of the journal to give it a clean modern look, followed by the addition of the specialty section "Trials from Resource-Limited Settings" that reflects the journal's support of authors from these regions. These things have been accomplished without compromising our standard of excellence and service to authors. We have also extended our reach electronically through our presence on ScienceDirect, where an average of 2000 people each month download articles from

Current Therapeutic Research. One of the reasons for the journal's success is the direction it receives from its Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Judd L. Walson, who requires that each manuscript meet high ethical and scientific standards. To him, I extend my personal gratitude; the journal would not be the same without his time and talent. I give special thanks to the Editorial Board members for their willingness to review manuscripts on tight deadlines and for promoting the journal to colleagues. Finally, I recognize that none of the growth and improvement in the journal would have been accomplished without the support of everyone on the internal journal staff-. These individuals form an incredible team, each part of which plays an important r o l ~ f r o m the peer-review group that take manuscripts through the review process to the editors who make sure the author's message gets across, the production staffwho make sure that each article is accurately displayed and printed, and the reprint staff-who supply copies of published articles to authors and clients. These people work tirelessly, meet incredibly tight deadlines each month, and succeed in producing high-quality issues every time. I thank all of them for their friendship and support over the 13 years I have been associated with the journal. They have made coming to work a pleasure! I am confident that the evolution of Current Therapeutic Research will continue under the guidance ofJo-Ann E. West, who has been our Editorial Director and will be assuming the role of Publisher. Since I became Publisher, Jo-Ann and I have worked closely on all aspects of the journal. I have a great respect for her abilities and know that the journal will be in good hands as I depart for a new home in a warmer climate. Vicki S. Donoso, MS, MBA
