fever is an acute systemic disease caused T yphoid by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the organism Salnwnella typhi. The infection is endemic in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. However, with the advent of new migration patterns and increased intercontinental travels, the disease has started to appear, albeit sporadically, in non-endemic areas of the world. In the United States about 500 cases of S typhi infection are reported each year. About three quarters of these are associated with foreign travels or residence in an endemic area. We present two reports of typhoid fever involving the lung.
