The problem of quantitative
assessment

stress remains to be solved. The purpose of this study
was to attempt to quantify the evaluation of stress using the Type A behavior pattern. A total of 1,101 factory workers, 602 male workers (aged 20-59) completed questionnaires symptoms,

1. The firstcomponent score,whichrepresented overallirritability,was chosenas an independent variable forcomplaintsof "hungerpains"and "tendencyto havediarrhea." The first component scorehad a positive association withcomplaintsof thesestress-related subjective symptoms, and theassociation with"hunger pains"wasstatistically significant withP
