Editorial The 2014 Most Influential Bioelectromagnetics Journal Paper by Citation Award

The Bioelectromagnetics Society announces its selection of the 2014 Most Influential Bioelectromagnetics Journal Paper by Citation Award from among the primary research articles published between January 2009 and December 2013. The paper [Sun et al., 2009] is entitled, “Effect of pulsed electromagnetic field on the proliferation and differentiation potential of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.” Authors are Li-Yi Sun1,2, Dean-Kuo Hsieh3, Tzai-Chiu Yu4, Hsien-Tai Chiu2, Sheng-Fen Lu1, Geng-Hong Luo1, Tom K. Kuo5, Oscar K. Lee5,6 and Tzyy-Wen Chiou1 from: 1Department of Life Science and Graduate Institute of Biotechnology, National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan, China; 2 Department of Biological Science and Technology, National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, China; 3 Department of Applied Chemistry, Chaoyang University of Technology, Taichung, Taiwan, China; 4 Department of Orthopaedics, Buddhist Tzu Chi General Hospital, Hualien, Taiwan, China; 5 Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan, China; and 6 Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan, China.

In addition to a certificate to each author, the award, including a monetary prize, will be presented to the authors in June 2015 during the Annual Meeting of the Bioelectromagnetics Society, to be held at Asilomar, California, USA. The Most Influential Bioelectromagnetics Journal Paper by Citation Award was established by the Bioelectromagnetics Society in 2007 to recognize scholarly contributions to the scientific community, and to acknowledge and foster ongoing excellence in scientific discovery and achievement in its field.
