The 5th International Symposium on Environmental Economy and Technology (ISEET-2012) Preface
This volume comprises 56 articles selected through strict peer-review process from full paper articles submitted for the proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Environmental Economy and Technology (ISEET-2012) held on the Campus of Fukuoga Institute of Technology (Fukuoka City, Japan), August 2-4, 2012. In view of the ISEET history, Fukuoka and Saitama Institute of Technology in association with University of Science and Technology Liaoning, organized the 1st China-Japan-Korea Joint Symposium on Environmental Economy and Technology (ISEET) in 2004. The 2nd Symposium was held by University of Science and Technology Liaoning with great success in 2006. The 3rd ISEET took place at Saitama Institute of Technology in 2008. The 4th ISEET was hosted at Dalian JiaoTong University in 2010. In the light of ever growing interests and concerns on environmental topics at universities, researching institutes and government in the local region, Fukuoka Institute of Technology has decided to host ISEET-2012. For the 5th International Symposium on Environmental Economy and Technology, the special forum will be set for radioactive contamination, namely, Cesium contamination will be firstly discussed, which is caused by the 2011 huge earthquake attack in Japan. During the ISEET 2012, Consortium Fukuoka participates in the symposium, which comprises Fukuoka Institute of Technology (representative university), Kyushu University, Fukuoka Women’s University and Seinan Gakuin University. The consortium mainly focuses on the environmental and energy issues at the postgraduate level. In the symposium, 81 expert participants gathered from diverse scientific fields in order to present and discuss research works that would enhance our understanding of various aspects of environmental issues. Totally 56 articles were presented in the categories as follows: (a) environmental technology, (b) environmental economy, (c) radioactive contamination, (d) green energy and emission control and other relative environmental topics. Last but not least, I would like to sincerely acknowledge the editorial committee of Journal Environmental Sciences for their enthusiastic efforts for reviewing and publishing this volume. In particular, the contribution of CONSORTIONFUKUOKA for organizing and coordinating in symposium is also highly appreciated.
