THE INDORE

CHARITABLE HOSPITAL.

To the Editor of the

Indian Medical Gazette

SiK,?I beg to draw your attention to the report in your last issue, on the Indore Charitable Hospital. The report is headed as coming from Mr. Gunput Singh, the resident medical officer, and as in the report mention is made of him in high terms of commendation, the report appears as having been written by himself for the purpose of praising up himself and his work. He is naturally much annoyed at being placed in such a ridiculous position. As a matter of fact the report was written and signed by Surgeon-Major Caldecott, then officiating for me as Superintendent of the hospital, and Mr. Gunput Singh's name was mentioned as supplying notes of the operations performed. Trusting you will acknowledge the error in your next issue as a matter of justice to Mr. Gunput Singh, whose ability is equalled by his retiring disposition. I am, Dear Sir, Yours faithfully, D. F. Keegan, Supdt., Indore Charitable

Surgeon-Major,

The mistake was caused by the letter forwarding the article being signed by Mr. Gunput Singh and the Or'.] absence of the real author's name.?Ed., I.
