underlying disorder was diagnosed 4 years later'. Despite these difficulties with the histological classification of the tumours, malignant transformation remains the most serious complication of this disfiguring disorder. In this case clinical and CT review over a 4-year period has shown no evidence ofrecurrence, confirming the benign nature of the excised tissue. Long-term follow-up is indicated if enchondromas occur in the head and neck region in Ollier's disease, because ofthe difficulty confirming the histological diagnosis, as well as the potential for malignant transformation of other enchondromas.
