Uncommon Aspect of a Breasttumour Von Ch. Dochez and J. Bultinck 4 Figures Algemeen Zickenhuis Middelheim, Antwcrp -- Belgium
The patient 't S. J. born on Jan. 1, 1910 was admitted to the hospital on Apr. 4, 1974 suffering
from tumour of right breast. A 18 year old diabetes mellitus has been stabilised for long. Right breast tumour has been noticed by patient some months ago, it did not increase in size. Reason for admittance, however, is a 4 kg weight
loss during last weeks. Palpation detects the tumour, lying deep in the uppermedial quadrant, no skin-nipple retraction observed.
Mammography: Sharply circumscribed tumour, of a diameter of 3 cm, containing punctual- and linear calcium deposits.

Fine radiation to nipple, which appears slightly thickened and retracted. Necrotized, encapsulated fihroadcnoma? Anatomo-pathologv: Tumour consisting of niasses of necrotic cells and fine necrotic connective tissue septa. Deposits of extraand intracellular iron pigment. Numerous sections of vessels
L)iflerent:al diagnosis: Carcinoma with extensive old bleeding?
Necrotized, degenerated angioma? - Arteriosclerotic inducted necrosis, on diabetic base, of a ductal carcinoma?
and nerves, intima of vessels fibrotic and calcified. In the connective tissue, giant-cells, histiocysts are identified,
whereas in the neighbourhood of the formation, a small carcinoma of the cribriform ductuli-type appears.
