Expression of concern from journal editors Anthropometric indices of obesity and type 2 diabetes in Bangladeshi population: Chandra Rural Diabetes Study (CRDS), Volume 8, Issue 3, May—June 2014, Pages e220—e229 Concern has been raised about the article listed above. The article stated that all procedures involving human subjects were approved by the National Committee for Medical and Health Research Ethics (NEM) of Norway and the Ethical Committee of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh for Medical Research. A senior author of the article and the office of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
at the University of Oslo have since informed the editors that the required ethical clearance from the National Committee for Medical and Health Research Ethics of Norway was not obtained for the study that this paper is based on. Investigations are being carried out into this apparent breach of ethics. In the interim, Obesity Research and Clinical Practice is publishing this expression of concern to alert our readers to these serious concerns. Once the outstanding issues have been resolved, Obesity Research and Clinical Practice will take appropriate action regarding this article.
