World Health Organization Global AIDS Statistics As of 1 March 1991 a cumulative global total of 334,215 cases of AIDS has been reported from 159 countries. This represents an increase of nearly 11,000 cases over the previous month. This increase is due to the receipt of reports from the European Region and Region of the Smericas. The case rate is expressed as cases per 100,000 of population. 1989 reporting generally incomplete. Signifies an updated report. ** Saint Vincent has revised its previous report of 26 cases to 25 cases.
