Dear Sir, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to comment the letter from Dr. Murta [1] regarding our article [2]. We read carefully the comments and we are grateful to Murta E. for his appointments. The possible association between human papillomavirus, Chlamydia trachomatis and bacterial vaginosis suggested by Murta E. will not be discussed because it is out of the scope of our article.

We observed that a formatting problem occurred that may have created a conflict between the software (Endnote) for managing bibliographies and we correctly updated references in Fig. 2a, b.
